LEED®/Green Buildings

With respect to unique locations, purpose and design, some projects are far beyond mainstream construction assignments. SEDALCO has enjoyed success in projects that are far beyond typical, demanding ingenuity and vision with a healthy respect for uncommon conditions that require creative solutions. Our breadth of experience is applied from start to finish, as we work to bring these one-of-a-kind projects to life.

Some projects are focused on environmental education and compatibility, such as the Living Science Center at River Legacy Park in Arlington, Texas, and the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas, Texas. Both projects required high standards in LEED Certified Green Building design, processes and materials. Other special projects required a high level of security features.

LEED® Builder

As our world becomes smaller, LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) construction practices are fast becoming the standard for nearly all sectors of the construction industry. SEDALCO has been committed to environmentally and conservation sensitive responsible design, policies, materials and procedures for decades, and has effectively provided leadership in this area among our colleagues through our continuous pursuit of building projects featuring intelligent design and LEED certification as well as our continued effort to train and accredit SEDALCO personnel in LEED AP certification.

With many of our professional staff LEED® AP accredited, SEDALCO has extensive experience in all areas of sustainable design, preplanning, management and construction. We work diligently to combine budget, scheduling, site evaluation, and constructability and material/equipment analysis into a finished project that demonstrates respect for the environment on all levels. From designs that maximizes natural light and insulation to energy efficient systems, equipment and materials, we build not just for the here and now, but for tomorrow’s generations.

LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
